Should You Buy the Mp40 Airsoft Gun?

Airsoft was invented in Japan in the 1980s as a way for Japanese gun collectors to enjoy their hobby without breaking the law, as civilians cannot possess firearms in Japan. The guns were designed to look exactly like real guns and were basically replicas of them. Eventually, the airsoft craze spread to other nations and airsoft became more than a type of gun replica. It became a sport, in which players participate in military style simulations similar to that of paintball. There are all kinds of airsoft guns from which you can choose. One model you may or may not have seen is the Mp40 airsoft gun.

The Mp40 is a gun which was used in World War II. This gun was designed and used in Germany and its name literally means machine pistol 40. It was used most often by paratroopers and squad leaders and preferred for its low recoil and lower rate of fire as compared with other submachine guns. This gun is an open bolt blowback automatic model, and although it has full automatic fire the low rate of fire provided for single shots if the trigger was pulled just right. One of the only weak points of this efficiently designed firearm was its 32 round magazine.

When you buy this model of airsoft gun, you can expect to pay anywhere from around $100 to $600 or even more. It all depends on where you purchase it from and which particular model you decide on. For example, the Tokyo Marui MP40 Airsoft Machine Gun will cost you around $625 because it is so well made to look and feel just like the real thing. On the other hand, you can sometimes find an identical or similar model for around $150 if you know where to look. Ebay is a great place to shop for airsoft guns and accessories, as you can often find great items at bargain prices.

An Mp40 airsoft gun is an excellent addition to any collection. Many people enjoy collecting these guns and don't ever go out on the airsoft field once. However, if you do, the Mp40 can be an ideal gun to use during a World War II simulation or reenactment. This model of airsoft gun is efficient and historically significant, making it a great choice for most any airsoft enthusiast.
